IPOB stands for Independent People of Biafra. It is a pressure group that is advocating for the secession of the peoples of South east of Nigeria.
The Igbos are predominant group from the south east, demanding for the group to be excised from the Federation of Nigeria.
The federal government arrested the leader of the group, Nnamdi Kanu and he has been put on trial.
The leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu was today arraigned at the Federal High Court Abuja, as court resumed hearing of the case of the IPOB leader alongside his co-defendants- Benjamin Madubugwu, David Nwawusi and Chidiebere Onwudiwe.
